Delivering news from the Middle East conflict

Hamas’ voters

Posted by Middle East Conflict On January - 9 - 2009

“They’re trying to punish those who’ve taken control of Gaza but in fact they’re punishing everybody inside Gaza, a very small percentage of whom support the people who are controlling Gaza right now”. Oh really?

And we thought the Hamas won an election by a landslide…

  1. Francis UNITED KINGDOM Said,

So did Mugabe in Zimbabwe at one time. Hamas is there as a reaction to other events at the time. I just hope this latest intervention does not produce Hamas 2 whatever happens to Version 1. Israel needs to win the hearts and minds of the Palestinians. Once that is achieved hopefully with less bloodshed, then co-existance if not full peace will prevail. The hope is there and the will of a lot of people on both sides will shine through as it finally did in Northern Ireland where none of us would have said that peace will ever come, but it did because if one addressess the fundamentals, then the rest is detail.
